Support PATRIOT Act Reforms
Keep the messages and phone calls going to all representatives and senators, telling them that the library community wants reforms to the USA PATRIOT Act. We seek reforms that include better protection for library users and all “readers” from needless intrusion into reading and Internet records and other personal data. Additional reforms should include shorter sunsets, fixing problems with gag orders restricting First Amendment rights, and increased reporting and oversight of law enforcements use of PATRIOT provisions.
